The Ottoman Empire Shall Have Power But he Ottoman Empire or Turkey shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. Stop point: 117:15
In the previous lesson the verse "He shall stretch forth his Turkey hand" meant asking for money according to what was said in the video.
Now in this verse it is said he (Ottoman Empire) shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt.
So basically this is saying the same thing. Formally Egypt continued to be regarded as a pashalik of the Ottoman Empire and Mohammed Ali as its governor and pasha, who was subordinate to the Sultan and the Porte. He preserved the mask of a vassal, but in reality he executed only those of the Porte's orders which were to his advantage and sabotaged those that were not. Egypt had, in fact, become an independent state with its own government, army, laws and tax system. Mohammed Ali paid an annual tribute to the Sultan, comprising approximately three per cent of all budget expenditure, he received investiture from the Sultan, the latter's name was mentioned in the khutbahs and with this ended Egypt's dependence on the Porte. Foreigners called Mohammed Ali the viceroy. (Marxists.org) And this one is after 1840 The Egyptian Question was settled on June 1, 1841, by a special hatti-sherif (the noble rescript) after long talks between the Powers. Mohammed Ali retained the hereditary pashaliks of Egypt and the Sudan, but gave the Sultan back Syria, Palestine, Cilicia, Arabia and Crete. He reduced his army to 18,000 men. He was deprived of the right to appoint generals in his army and to build warships. He gave Turkey back her fleet. He acknowledged himself the Sultan's vassal and pledged to pay a large tribute into the Sultan's treasury. (Marxists.org)
In context of the video I think were still talking about tribute before 1840.
In 1840 the the Great Powers of United Kingdom, Austria, Prussia, Russia held the Convention of London. On 29 June 1839 Ibrahim Pasha, the son of Mehemet Ali, defeated the Ottoman army in the Battle of Nezib. This crushing defeat offered an opportunity for Mehemet Ali Pasha to potentially take control of Constantinople and essentially the entire Ottoman Empire. Shortly after the defeat Mahmud died leaving his 16-year-old heir Abdulmecid in power. Britain, Russia, and Austria all had a considerable stake in the Ottoman Empire, and so they quickly came to the aid of the young Sultan, which led to the 1840 Convention of London. (Wikipedia) This is the event that some say was fulfilled by Revelation Nine and the Josiah Litch prediction about the fall of the Ottoman Empire. To verify what early Adventist taught, I took a quote from here. A heavy embargo in the way of tribute was placed upon Egypt by Turkey, amounting to a large amount of gold and silver and many thousand measures of corn and barley. (The Advent Review And Sabbath Herald December 26, 1912) So if this tribute was after at the time of 1840 we are saying... In the end I would say these verses were fulfilled.
I still think the language alludes to nation more powerful than what we see here. Back then I would either say France or Britain had more power. As far as Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps, neither were powerful at that time.
The Libyans were still under control of the Ottoman Empire up until 1913.
Pirating and the Slave Trading was also a problem in that area for some time. At the same time of the Italo-Turkish war the Ottoman Empire tried to take Egypt back from Britain but failed. |
France Shall Have Power But he France shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver and over all the precious things of Egypt for a short time in 1798 before France had to leave : and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. Not much to say here as we have been over this ground already.
42, " He
shall stretch forth his hands also upon the countries ;
and the land of Egypt shall not escape." " Hands "
signifies power ; and what country on the globe did
not more or less feel the effects of Bonaparte's power ?
Egypt, surely, did not escape ; for all Lower Egypt
was conquered by his arms. 43, " But he shall have
power over the treasures of gold, and of silver, and
over all the precious things of Egypt." Bonaparte,
in his conquest of Egypt, levied contributions upon the
inhabitants of the country sufficient to support and
pay his troops, and brought away much with him.
" And the Libyans and Ethiopians shall be at his
steps." When he first went into Egypt, he landed
his army on the coast of what was anciently called
Lybia, and his last battle was fought in Upper Egypt
-what the ancients called Ethiopia. So both of
these places were at his steps, although neither of
them was fairly conquered, as was Egypt.
I think Uriah Smith's interpretation is what changed it to the Ottoman Empire. |
Russia Shall Have Power But he Russia shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. If this is the interpretation, the way I see things is Russia uniting with China. I will say in a literal sense that it is amazing how important Egypt is. Which in the end I think the United Nations with the Papacy behind it will have control over the Suez Canal. |
The Papacy Shall Have Literal Power But he Papacy shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
This video shows Egypt being taken over by Jews, not the Papacy.
There are some that think it's the Jews or Zionism that brings in the NWO. The video is above is very long. Of course I believe it's the Papacy who is behind the NWO. I better get back to Egypt and their treasures. The Papacy looks to control us all not by a gun but by dept. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Rev 13:16-17) Is this the beginning of the end? |
The Papacy Shall Have Spiritual Power But he Papacy shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. The Libyans and the Ethiopians could be those that fight. (Jer 46:9). I also see these nations as examples for mans spiritual condition.
These ungodly nations show their different spiritual conditions.
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart. (Jer 9:26) And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. (Rev 20:7-8)
And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. |
