Egypt shall not escape from the Ottoman Empire. He Turkey shall stretch forth his Turkey hand for money also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. Stop point: 116:37 Did Egypt pay tribute to Turkey? Formally Egypt continued to be regarded as a pashalik of the Ottoman Empire and Mohammed Ali as its governor and pasha, who was subordinate to the Sultan and the Porte. He preserved the mask of a vassal, but in reality he executed only those of the Porte's orders which were to his advantage and sabotaged those that were not. Egypt had, in fact, become an independent state with its own government, army, laws and tax system. Mohammed Ali paid an annual tribute to the Sultan, comprising approximately three per cent of all budget expenditure, he received investiture from the Sultan, the latter's name was mentioned in the khutbahs and with this ended Egypt's dependence on the Porte. Foreigners called Mohammed Ali the viceroy. (Marxists.org) Yes Egypt did pay tribute to Turkey but I'm not sure that's what "stretch forth his hand" means. Here is what I find in the Bible: In context with Daniel 11, I think it means to Smite. Did Egypt escape? |
Egypt shall not escape from France. He France shall stretch forth his France's hand also upon the countries in Europe : and the land of Egypt shall not escape after France in 1798 took Egypt which after leaving left a power vacuum that split Egypt up from the Ottoman Empire up until Nov 27 of 1840 . France does seem to be stretching forth his hand at this time. Egypt was taken by France. I think France fits better here than does the Ottoman's. |
Egypt shall not escape from Russia. He Russia shall stretch forth his Russia's hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. If Russia literally comes from the North it would war against the South which many believe to be China. Somehow Israel and Egypt would be caught up in this. If this "stretch forth his hand" is about money, that fits very well right now as Egypt is having currency problems. Some say Russia is spiritually part of the South. China is hard for me to take literally since it is east of Israel. Although China wants control over the Suez Canal which if that happened they would be literally in control of Egypt and just south of Israel.
It is easier for me to think of China and Russia more as spiritual. Even now we have this North vs South war. |
Egypt shall not escape from literal Papacy. He Papacy shall stretch forth his Papacy hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt south of Israel shall not escape. Egypt has been on a slow take over... ...like many other countries. What that means, I'm not sure. And if you believe in a strict literal belief this is a very good interpretation. But like I've said before I think this last war is much bigger than what is going on in the middle east. |
Egypt shall not escape from spiritual Papacy. He Papacy shall stretch forth his Papacy hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt heathen nations shall not escape. While there is a group from the east that may escape God's wrath and choose to be on the side of Israel there is also another side from the south that will continue to reject God and join with the Beast against Israel.
At some point in time miracles will be performed both by God and the Beast. As Spiritualism more closely imitates the nominal Christianity of the day, it has greater power to deceive and ensnare. Satan himself is converted, after the modern order of things. He will appear in the character of an angel of light. Through the agency of Spiritualism, miracles will be wrought, the sick will be healed, and many undeniable wonders will be performed. And as the spirits will profess faith in the Bible, and manifest respect for the institutions of the church, their work will be accepted as a manifestation of divine power. The line of distinction between professed Christians and the ungodly is now hardly distinguishable. Church-members love what the world loves, and are ready to join with them; and Satan determines to unite them in one body, and thus strengthen his cause by sweeping all into the ranks of Spiritualism. Papists, who boast of miracles as a certain sign of the true church, will be readily deceived by this wonder-working power; and Protestants, having cast away the shield of truth, will also be deluded. Papists, Protestants, and worldlings will alike accept the form of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world, and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium. {GC88 588.3} The world is filled with storm and war and variance. Yet under one head -the papal power- the people will unite to oppose God in the person of His witnesses. This union is cemented by the great apostate. - Testimonies for the Church 7:182 (1902). {LDE 131.5} First the heathen nations fail to escape the wine of Babylon. |
