My Study

The last column on these beliefs is one that I was looking for since I've heard this presented in the past and then recently in this video someone mentioned the same thing.
But in the video he did not mention who was teaching this nor could I find the old web site I saw this presented from.
So I just did a search on Google and came across the one presented but the one presented to me does not seem exactly what I was looking for.
It is a future view that does involve 1844 but I don't think it was in the same order of events or even the same perspective.
I don't remember the teaching about the Holy Spirit being the Four Horsemen in the view I saw before.
It was more like a series of events starting from the opening of the seals which started in 1844.
I might have to change things later once I find the one I'm looking for.

Seal Uriah Smith Shepherd's Rod Sunday Worship/Got Questions Pastor David Gates An SDA Future Look
White Horse
Rev 6:1-2

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

The white horse denotes the purity of faith, and consequently of life, of the first ministers, and followers of Jesus Christ. This seal probably covers the period of the Ephesus church of chap. ii, 1-7. The conquests of the gospel during that period are here represented

The color (white) of the horse itself speaks of purity, freedom from sin and defilement, and that condition only existed in the time of Adam.

Sacred history tells us that there were no wars before the flood that wars began after the confusion of tongues at the tower of Babel, after the human family had been divided into numerous tongues, nations, and races.

The first Horseman likely refers to the Antichrist. He is the false imitator of the true Christ, who is also associated with a white horse (Revelation 19:11-16). At the beginning of the tribulation, the Antichrist will be given authority ("a crown"), and he will wage war ("a bow"), conquering all who oppose him.

The first rider is Christ.

Here we see God beginning his last final conquest on earth. Jesus Christ on a White Horse followed by all the host of heaven and all of his people on earth especially his special army 144,000 are about to finish the work on the earth.

After breaking the first seal, the work of the Holy Spirit took off and the gospel of Jesus began to grow. This work will continue until the seventh trumpet occurs.

Red Horse
Rev 6:3-4

And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

The red horse denotes blood and carnage, and has reference to those times of persecution of the followers of Jesus Christ, covering much of the period called the ten persecutions, the same as the Smyrna church of chap. Rev 2:8-11,

We are told that the rider of the second seal was "to take peace from the earth," implying that there was peace before.

The first war recorded in the Bible was fought in the days of Abraham, and wars have stayed with us ever since. Before that day there was peace. Where else, then, could the second seal apply? After the flood, the time peace was taken away from the earth.

The second Horseman refers to terrible warfare that will break out in the end times. Those wars will include the Antichrist's rise to power, which requires the downfall of three other kings (Daniel 7:8), and possibly the Battle of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38-39).

The second rider is Satan.

Power is going to be given to the enemy to take peace from the earth.

As soon as the loud cry begins a great sword will be unleashed.
Pestilences, Diseases, Violence, Biological Warfare, Pandemics.

Bottomless Pit is opened.

The Holy Spirit transformed Himself into a rider on a red horse. He left Heaven's throne room on a mission to empower and expand the spiritual revival that had just begun on Earth. The Holy Spirit carried with Him a great sword which represents the Word of God. This campaign centered on the translation, printing and distribution of God's great sword, the Bible.

Black Horse
Rev 6:5-6
And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

The black horse denotes error and darkness, the opposite of that symbolized by the white horse. The events under this seal cover the period of the Pergamos church, Rev 2:12-17, from Constantine, A. D. 313 , to the unlimited rule of the Papacy, A. D. 538.

The third seal unveils the period in which the alphabet was invented and in which commercialism was originated; the period in which the Bible was being written, and in which one nation subjugated another; the period that gave birth to Empires. The Old Testament time is closed with the third seal.

The third Horseman of the Apocalypse portrays a great famine that will take place. Food is scarce, and prices are inflated beyond reason. The command to spare the oil and the wine seems to signify that the luxuries (oil and wine) will still be available during the famine, but the staples will not.

The third rider is God.

God is the judge, he is holding balances, there is a judgment scene going on, and there is a voice coming from the midst of the four beasts which is the throne of God, and God is writing down the names of every single person in the whole earth.

Some are sealed, the 144,000.
Some will die, the multitude?

Because the third seal indicates judgment and the third seal follows the formation of Bible societies in the second seal, the third seal had to have been broken after the formation of the Bible societies. I believe the third seal was broken in 1844. This seal perfectly aligns with the scene in Daniel 7:9,10 where the court was seated and "the books were opened." The third seal aligns with the cleansing of Heaven's temple mentioned in Daniel 8:14.

Pale Horse
Rev 6:7-8
And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

The rider upon the pale horse is named Death. Hell, the grave, followed with him. The symbols under this seal denote great persecution, and martyrdom of the church. The period of this seal cannot be mistaken. It must have been during the unlimited, unrebuked, unrestrained, persecuting rule of the Papacy, from about A. D. 538, to the time when the reformers commenced their work of exposing the corruptions of the Papal system.

Very evidently the rider of the pale horse is synonymous with him who spake against the Most High, with him who was to wear out the saints, "and think to change times and laws." Dan 7:25. He is sen to represent the climax of idolatry. The ancient Roman government is fittingly symbolized by the non-descrpt beast, because in truth its administration was an admixture of civil and religious laws, of Pagan and Christian doctrines. No one could actually tell whether the Roman goverment was Pagan or Christian, Jewish or Gentile.

The fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse is symbolic of death and devastation. The horse's pale color (in the original language, it's literally "pale green" or "yellowish green") denotes sickliness and biliousness. The fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse will bring further warfare and terrible famines along with awful plagues, diseases, and attacks by wild animals. A fourth of the world's population will die.

There is going to be a great number of martyrs and the decision will be are you going to obey Christ and die or will you receive the Mark Of The Beast and obey the worldly powers and postpone death a little more.

The breaking of the fourth seal marks the beginning of the Great Tribulation and the judgment of the living. A topic of worldwide interest when God's destruction begins will be the question of what constitutes God's will.

Fifth Seal
Rev 6:9-11
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

It seems proper that a period of time should be given to the events under the fifth seal, the same as the other six, which time, it may appear evident from the following remarks, was from the rise of the reformation to near the time when civil power was taken from the Papacy.

The souls being under the altar indicates that they sacrificed their lives for a cause similar to the cause of the martyrs during the Protestant Reformation. And the question, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost Thou not judge?" also the answer, "that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled," concretely prove that the persecution and martyrdom of the fourth seal were to overlap the fifth seal, and that the Judgment of the dead (the martyrs) was not to begin until afer the persecution had ceased, but that then it would certainly begin.

The fifth seal. The scroll's fifth seal reveals those who will be martyred for their faith in Christ during the tribulation (Revelation 6:9-11; cf. Matthew 24:9). The souls of these martyrs are pictured as dwelling under the altar in heaven. God hears their cries for justice, and He gives each of them a white robe. The martyrs are told to wait "until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been." God promises to avenge them, but the time was not yet (cf. Romans 12:19).

What's the answer to that question, yes there will be a lot of martyrs. We know they are martyrs, because they were slain for the word of God and they are asking the Lord symbolically because the blood of Abel cried out to the Lord, but Abel was dead.
We know the dead know not anything till the resurrection. But their blood is crying out. If you are just oh Lord, true and just, why don't you do something? And what was God's answer? White robes were given to each of them. They were declared to be just and they were told to wait a little longer until their fellow servants should be killed as they were. So in the future there's going to be a loud cry empowered by the Holy Spirit then the rider of the White Horse Jesus Christ followed by Satan on the Red Horse to take peace from the earth and that they should kill one another. Then God riding on the Black Horse is the one bringing judgment to all the Earth. And then we see Satan on the Pale Horse or the yellow horse allowed to martyr God's people. And then we have the blood of the martyrs crying out how long is this going to last Lord true and just. And God says wait just a little longer until the rest of your servants are martyred like you. And the blood of these martyrs must wait a little longer until everybody has made their final decision.

When the fifth seal is broken, many people will be martyred because the distribution of Bibles had exposed them to God's truth and they stand firmly for the truth proclaimed in the Word of God.

Sixth Seal
Rev 6:12-15, 16-17
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

1. A great earthquake, which, probably, was the great earthquake at Lisbon, in 1755, in which 20,000 persons were killed. The Encyclopedia Americana states: "It extended from Greenland to Africa and America."

2. The sun became black as sackcloth of hair, which was the same as the darkening of the sun Matt 24:29, and was fulfilled in the wonderful dark day of May 19 1780. See Exposition of Matt 24 advertised in the Review and Herald.

3. The moon became as blood. The night following dark day, the moon, when visible at all, looked l'ke blood.

4. The stars of heaven fell unto the earth, which is, the same its the falling stars of Matt 24:29, and had a wonderful fulfillment Nov. 13, 1833, as described by John, of which thousands now living were eye-witnesses.

5. The heavens will depart as a scroll when it is rolled together. This is in the future, to be fulfilled when the voice of God shakes not only the earth, but the atmospheric heavens. Heb 12:22-27; Joel 3:16, Jer. 25:30-31, Rev 16:17.

6. Mountains and islands will be moved out of their places. The voice of God that shakes the heavens will also shake the earth. Mountains will be thrown down, and islands sunk. The earth's surface will be broken up to prepare the way for ?

7. All classes of the lost to hide in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains from the burning glory then being manifested of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. They have witnessed the shaking of the earth, the casting out of the rocks of the mountains; all hope of mercy is gone, and they desire and pray that some rock or mountain may cover them from the awful glory of God and the Lamb.

The global disturbances of the celestial exhibitions between the years of 1755 and 1833, in themselves, however appear to be forecasts of the things which take place during the "great and dreadful day of the Lord." If this be true, then the earthquake foreshadows the forthcoming shaking, shifting, among the nations as predicted by the prophets. The darkening of the sun would bespeak the closing of the gospel, the end of probationary time, the time when man "shall run to and fro and seek the Word of the Lord, and shall not find it." (Rev 6:14-17) In these verses are pictured the fate, the fear and the smitten conscience of all woh are not able to stand in the day of Judgment of the living, the great and dreadful day of the Lord - the wrath of the Lamb in the great "time of trouble such as never was" (Dan 12:1), the day following the appearance of the antipyical "Elijah the prophet" (Mal 4:5) - yes, the day in which those who have not clad themselves in the wedding garment, are cast into outer darkness, there to gnash their teeth (Mat 22:11-13).

Aslo in these scriptures (Rev 6:14-17) asserts the Spirit of Truth, "two parties are brought to view. One party permitted themselves to be deceived, and took sides with those with whom the Lord has a controversy. They misinterpreted the messages sent them, and clothed themselves in robe of self-righteousness" (Testimonies, Vol 9, p 268.

The sixth seal. When the Lamb of God opens the sixth seal, a devastating earthquake occurs, causing massive upheaval and terrible devastation along with unusual astronomical phenomena: the sun turns black, and the moon turns blood-red, and "the heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place" (Revelation 6:12-14). Survivors of the sixth seal, regardless of their social position, take refuge in caves and cry out to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?" (verses 16-17).

After the opening of the sixth of the seven seals is an interlude in the book of Revelation. John describes the 144,000 Jews who will be protected during the tribulation (Revelation 7:1-8). Then, in heaven, he sees "a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb" (verse 9). These people wear white robes, hold palm branches, and shout:
"Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne
and to the Lamb" (verse 10).

John is told who this white-clad multitude is: "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb" (verse 14). They are given the promise that
"'Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,'
nor any scorching heat. . . .
'And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes'" (verses 16-17; cf. Isaiah 25:8; 49:10).

That day is coming as you just saw in the picture that the people who have rejected God's mercy will want to hide from him who is coming in the clouds and they want the rocks to fall on them. The time is over, no more martyrs, it is time for God to bring justice, there is a special resurrection of all those martyrs that died under that special message of the third angel. It's a great beautiful day, it's a day when God will bring justice to the earth.

The sixth seal describes the physical appearing of Jesus at the Second Coming. The wicked will be horrified when they see Jesus sitting at the right hand of the Father.[69] As we think about this dramatic scene, two elements are important to consider. First, remember that the Book of Life is not opened at the Second Coming. The Book of Life remains sealed until the seventh seal is broken at the end of the 1,000 years.[70] It is not until the end of the one thousand years that the Father is vindicated. Second, remember that the seven seals are additive in nature. As each seal is broken, a brighter and clearer understanding of who Jesus really is unfolds. Consider the following:

The first seal reveals the truth, salvation comes through faith in Jesus alone.

The second seal reveals the teachings of Jesus, found only in the Bible.

The third seal reveals the judgment seat of Jesus, He is our judge.

The fourth seal reveals the sovereign authority of Jesus, His deadly judgments.

The fifth seal reveals the faith of Jesus through His martyrs.

The sixth seal reveals Jesus as King of kings and Lord of lords.

The seventh seal reveals that Jesus is Almighty God, identical to the Father. Notice that the first six seals relate to each other in pairs. The first three seals are causes, and the following three seals are their effects.

Seventh Seal
Rev 8:1-3, 4-6
And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

The expression, "after these things," does not mean after the fulfillment of all the events previously described; but after the prophet had been carried down in vision to the close of the sixth seal, in order not to break the consecutive order of events as given in chapter 6, his mind is called to what is mentioned in chapter 7, as further particulars to transpire in connection with that seal. Then we inquire, Between what events in that seal does this work come in? It must transpire before the departing of the heavens as a scroll; for after that event there is no place for such a work as this. And it must take place subsequently to the signs in the sun, moon, and stars; for [436] these signs have been fulfilled, and such a work has not yet been accomplished. It comes in, therefore, between the 13th and 14th verses of Revelation 6; but there, as already shown, is just where we now stand. Hence the first part of Revelation 7 relates to a work the accomplishment of which may be looked for at the present time.

The remainder of The Revelation is wrapped in the symbolization of the seventh seal.(Rev 8:1-6) After a time the Judicial demonstrations - the voices "saying, Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty" the thunderings and lightnings cease for the space of half an hour, very definitely indicating that the Judicial throng of the first session of the Judgment adjourns. Following this, the seven angels are given the seven trumpets. In the meantime the angel who stands at the altar, offers the prayers of all the saints, takes the censer, fills it with the fire from the the altar, and casts it into the earth. Then it is that the heaven born fire, the "thunderings, and lightnings, an voices" with which the first session of the Judgment opened in the heavenly sanctuary (Rev 4:5), descend to which there is an earthquake, Then the seven trumpets sound, one following the other. At the sounding of the seventh trumpet (not at the breaking of the seventh seal) there are "great voices" saying, "The Kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever." (Rev 11:15) The half hour silence in heaven brings the voices down to earth, and at the sounding of the seventh trumpet the mystery of God is finished (Rev 10:7). Then it is that "the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord." What does it all mean? - Just this:

As we have seen, the silence divides the two pre-millennial Judicial sessions, the one for the dead and the other for the living, and the fire from the heavenly altar, the voices, lightnings, an thunderings, descend to earth. These facts, along with a number of scriptures on the subject, besides the remainder of The Revelation, the chapters after the breaking of the seventh seal, prove that the Judgment of the living, the cleansing of the earthly temple, is something which takes place on earth, not in heaven only!.......

The truth therefore is trouble-free: Between the Judgment of the dead and the Judgment of the living stands the half hour silence, the time absorbed in bring the first Judicial session to a close and in preparing the seconds session.
The remaining verses of chapter 8, also chapters 9-11, give the desription of the seven trumpets, a full treatise of which is found in Track No. 5, "The Final Warning".

The seventh seal. When the Lamb opens the seventh seal, "there was silence in heaven for about half an hour" (Revelation 8:1). The judgments that lead up to the close of the tribulation are now visible in the scroll and are so severe that a solemn silence falls upon all of heaven. The seventh seal obviously introduces the next series of judgments, for John immediately sees seven angels who are handed seven trumpets ready to sound (verse 2). An eighth angel takes a censer and burns "much incense" in it, representing the prayers of God's people (verses 3-4). The angel then took the same censer, "filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake" (verse 5).

Once the seven seal judgments are finished, the next part of the tribulation, featuring the seven trumpet judgments, is ready to begin.

The seventh seal doesn't happen till chapter eight and it's the coming of Jesus Christ.

When the fourth seal is broken, the seven trumpets will begin. God's wrath will awaken the living to hear that the hour of God's judgment has come.
