I better go over 538 one more time.
You can find some more on this on the last lesson.
508:
Heruli: - In 508 they were defeated by the Lombards.
512:
Heruli: - After the Herulian kingdom was destroyed by the Lombards, Herulian fortunes waned. Remaining Heruls joined the Lombards and some of them sought refuge with the Gepids. Marcellinus comes recorded that the Romans (meaning the East Romans or in modern naming the Byzantines) allowed them to resettle depopulated "lands and cities" near Singidunum (modern Belgrade); this was done "by order of Anastasius Caesar" sometime between June 29 and August 31, 512. After one generation, this minor federate kingdom disappeared from the historical records.
533:
Vandals: Byzantine general Belisarius defeats the Vandals, commanded by King Gelimer, at the Battle of Ticameron.
535-538:
Ostrogoths: After the death of Theodoric, Ostrogothic control in Italy had never been quite so complete. The disruption has increased to such an extent that in 535 the Eastern Roman empire sends General Belisarius to conquer the peninsula and bring it back under imperial control. In 536, General Belisarius enters Rome shortly before it is besieged by King Vittigis. The city suffers starvation until the siege is lifted and Belisarius pursues his opponents. The Goths are subjugated in the same year, and around this time Provence is lost to Italian control, with probably the Burgundians being responsible.
537:
It was Justinian who would cement the bishop of Rome's pre-eminence in the Church. (See Video / Picture Above)
The papacy was a diverse kind of power from the other political kingdoms before it. It was a religio-political system quite unlike anything that had been seen in the world before that time. - The Truth about Sunday Worship
538:
The 3rd Council of Orleans (538 A.D.) --- All agricultural work is forbidden on Sunday. However, those who refuse to travel or prepare meals on this day are condemned as being "Judaistic." (Sunday Law - Worship the Beast:
529-565:
Justianian Code: Developed under the sponsorship of the Byzantine emperor Justinian I.
I don't see any problem with the 538 A.D date:
- Arian Tribes Defeated - Done
- Bishops of Rome Superiority - Done
- Justinian Code - Done
- Move back into Rome Italy - Done
- New laws on Sunday Worship - Done
In verses 32-35, we can see the papacy in its first supremacy and the time element for the Protestant reformation by Luther and such in the 15th and 16th century. - Ed White
Daniel 11:32 "but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits."
Daniel 11:33 "And they
God's People
that understand among the people shall instruct many:"
This goes over a lot of history that I will probably fill in the blanks later.
Another read of the Great Controversy by Ellen White would be a great place to start.
The videos from the series above dig deep into this time.

Daniel 11:33 "yet they
God's People
shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days
1260
."
Many were killed during this time.
During the 1260 years many Christians died for their beliefs.
